Seems like if your white and British and say a sick joke you get jailed .... However if you are a Muslim and rave on about how happy you are that 6 British soldiers have been killed and every soldier

I have a rule I stick by ~ If I wouldn't say it in a pub full of people, I wouldn't say it on the internet. Seems to work

What they did was IMO more harrasment than anything, calling the guy over and over. I dont think they should have gone to jail though. I dont think what they did was in anyway as bad as making jokes about missing kids etc.

In my opinion no one in a country that claims to have free speech should be going to jail on the back of jokes that are in poor taste. Or at least the rules should be applied consistently regardless of ethnic background

It was pretty funny to be fair. I was driving back from taking the dogs out thinking this is a bit close to the bone.. didnt expect the type of hysteria that it generated though

I used to love listening to Brand on radio 2, proper funny! it was a stupid over reaction, started by the media and then everyone jumped on the bandwagon.

I find both Russell brand and jonathan ross funny, the daily mail and its bandwagoning reading public should have been told to f**k off IMO

There's nothing I wouldn't say on here that I wouldn't say to someone's face or in the pub. If a topic is brought up and your asked or lead into giving your opinion then so be it. If you don't like it then you have the chance to debate.

Can't believe the lad is getting jail..... Now that is a joke!!!

Its certainly more of a bad joke that he has been jailed imho, just shaming him in the papers and news would of prob been enough.

Jailed for words on a web site just seems ridiculous.

What was the joke ?

Strange that eh ..............

There has been many cases of facebook prosicutions. So he isnt the first and will not be the last. If you make an uncalled for remark on ANY internet site weather it be facebook, twitter, hunting life or any other, then the powers to be have the power to prosicute. Its simple really, dont be a sicko joke teller and dont be racists and dont be a bully as WE ARE in a big brother world and somebody is allways watching you no matter who you are............

We Have ALWAYS lived in a BIG BROTHER STATE....before the WWW.. if you took certain books out of A PUBLIC library...they would be "FLAGGED"..then you would be under Scrutiny ..mail ,etc intercepted.. The State has used "SOFT INTEL",supplied by allsorts of Organisations "Fellowships"..being going on since day Dot !
