rob190364 2,594
Don't know if this has already been on here but does anyone else think it's a bit ridiculous people getting jailed etc. for posting stuff on facebook? I know it's sick and out of order joking about a child that's probably been murdered but I do think it's a bit strange jailing a young lad for putting a couple of jokes on facebook. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-19869710 What's the difference between what he put and Frankie Boyle joking about Madeline McCann or Shannon Matthews?? Just seems like yet another waste of police resources to me. He should have been kicked off Facebook and that's about it IMO.
walshie 2,804
Or Frankie Boyle should have been jailed also? Should be the same rules for everyone.

If anything Frankie Boyle is worse because it wasn't some silly spur of the moment thing, he actually sat down and wrote that material knowing it would be seen by millions. This is just some chavvy tit writing to his mates.

Obviously not appropriate and in very bad taste but criminal? I think thats taking it a bit too far. As far as I was aware having a shit sense of humour wasnt a crime

TUFFTY 1,476
There has been many cases of facebook prosicutions. So he isnt the first and will not be the last. If you make an uncalled for remark on ANY internet site weather it be facebook, twitter, hunting life or any other, then the powers to be have the power to prosicute. Its simple really, dont be a sicko joke teller and dont be racists and dont be a bully as WE ARE in a big brother world and somebody is allways watching you no matter who you are............

Frann 882
I have a rule I stick by ~ If I wouldn't say it in a pub full of people, I wouldn't say it on the internet. Seems to work
Nik_B 3,790
But not everyone who does this on Facebook gets jailed http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/facebook/9596154/Facebook-troll-who-said-British-soldiers-should-go-to-hell-spared-jail.html
rob190364 2,594
people in general seem to drop their guard when at a computer..if you got done for something else you can bet your life they'd go through what you put on sites like this with a fine tooth comb to see what they could use against you...scary!
