bedwhippet 164
just do as you would as if it were a pup, start at very basics with getting her to learn her name then go from there,, all the best with her mate 1 Quote Link to post

magpie2 0
Make her your best friend and she will come good for you ! Don't push her to hard and be patient with her. The rest will just fall into place ! YOU CAN TEACH AN OLD DOG NEW TRICKS ! Quote Link to post
NEWKID 27,049
Don't take this the wrong way mate, but why would you want to take a dog on with so little put into it previously...... if I'm reading it right it's not even been named ffs......... I hope it comes good for you, but that would be a step to far for me.......... Quote Link to post

morton 5,368
As long as there are no hidden vices, then train it up,get it fit and give it a gallop,if the previous owner has hidden nothing from you,you may well be onto a winner. Quote Link to post
echo 24
i would take it to the vets and get it scanned for a chip. Not having a name is a bit strange to me. Quote Link to post
Stuart Rope 22
Best of luck mate Quote Link to post
fay 75
i tought that aswell but people who dont care about there dogs who breed to sell or what ever they do dont care about names half the time i no where he lives so cant see some one selling a dog if it was theres i went to buy another 1 an brought it back down to aggressive and it was 10 months so obviosly he deals them and doesnt put time into them but well looked after so thats what matters Quote Link to post
BIG G wheton machine 1,594
just go back to your basic training like you would a pup, best to use treats like we cubes of cheese or meat to get her coming to you guarentee you will get her attention when you have something she really likes so she wil be fixed on you. with a bita patitence you should be able to get her back to you when shes called which is prob the most important, then try her on a lead to see whats shes like. it could take a bita time cause she prob has her own bad habits and take her round livestock to see how she reacts, then try the sit command then move on to the stay command but dont trust her 100% cause you didnt rear her so ya dont know what shes capable off with dogs, kids, farm animals, good luck. p.s when training her dont bring other dogs you want her total attention so dont forget the treats for rewarding her good work Quote Link to post
beast 1,884
the only thing i would add is dont take her hunting until you are pleased with her recall or she will just learn to take herself hunting without you... Quote Link to post
