Ausnick 190
never used to use nets at all and one day caught over 75 rabbits with one dog cleaning them all up and the other one just catching one or two. absolutely fantastic day on rabbits never had another day like it since 1 Quote Link to post
paulsmithy83 567
Only way I ferret, think it crap with nets on all that sitting round for no real sport. I dont pest control for anyone so do it without nets Quote Link to post
Ricky Pettit 21
yeah this the way i was always brought up to do it but noticed alot of lurchermen on here used purse and longnets with there dogs an didnt know if this way as frowned upon lol Quote Link to post
derbylad1 293
yeah this the way i was always brought up to do it but noticed alot of lurchermen on here used purse and longnets with there dogs an didnt know if this way as frowned upon lol Dogs dont just catch rabbits. They mark, tell you whats going on underground and a great companion, but the nets do catch more in most environments. So it shouldn't be frowned upon as if its a bad thing, they should work together in harmony. Sometimes i have to do ferreting without dogs...and hate it. However ferreting without nets....i love it. Its great just for a couple of hours, light handed and letting the ferret and dog do the business. Edited October 9, 2012 by derbylad1 4 Quote Link to post
Ferretryan 74
Love doing this. Got couple places I go where it's perfect to do this and shouldn't be there so theres no time to waste ferret in rabbit out no setting nets and lifting them. But if doin some pest control I use the nets don't like missing any on permission Quote Link to post
flipper82 6
I just got 2 hobs kits and thats the way i want 2 work them hope the plan works as just new 2 ferrets love to watch lurchers work during the day .was using a wee terrier cross that used push the odd 1 out of cover but not what i was hoping for fingers crossed all that changes about november when i'll start taking them out 1 Quote Link to post
rob190364 2,594
Yep, all the time. Even if I go out with nets I'll usually bolt a few without nets for the dog at some point during the day....my favourite part of hunting 1 Quote Link to post

mighty celt 996
never use nets, thats what the dogs are for, makes for some cracking sport. dont see the point in useing nets, unless its a paid pest controll job. 3 Quote Link to post
