As far as i know EVERY rural area has its "wildlife crime" division. And all the keepers and farmers in that area will make notes of any motor they see that they suspect, anyone they see looking a bit sus in a field etc etc and pass it onto the wildlife crime officer.

 

And when the keeper sais to the wildlife crime officer "iv seen a transit van reg number bla bla parked up in the lane" the copper looks on his computer and sais "ah thats registered to john smith of bla bla address" then he looks and sees john smiths been done for running deer a couple of years back, a few ferreting offences and hare coursing.

 

Next thing john smith knows is he gets a letter in the post or a phone call saying "youve been seen, were watching you"...............................

 

And then if john smith takes the piss he WILL get a tug on his way home and vehicle searched etc
