derbylad1 293
I've seen a couple were shite, in all ways that have been previously mentioned. cant see the point in them and i would love anyone to come up with a very good reason for having them....and when you look at them...it looks unethical. its not really a ferret is it. Guest long-tail
iv been out with someone that favoured these small types on a few occasions and he works them with the harris hawk, they worked well all day never had any lay up but then suppose we get days like that anyways at times but couldnt see any difference in their working ability compared to your average sized jill Quote Link to post
tsteve9999 456
I suppose the depth of the warrens could influence things too. I rarely get a dig of more than a couple of feet so it's no problem to me that my hob can crack a rabbit in no time, but if the warrens were much deeper it would maybe be an advantage to have a fert that couldn't kill? Guest vin
What we are needind is a eu micro poley And gues who,s got 3' . I have 3 very small 1/4 eu poley,,, 2 are hobs the other is a jill,, mind there no where near as small as those two things mag wich has photo off,,, but they are small I've got a micro....lol...well our lass says it is. Anyway..that little EU/micro type of Tomo's did really really well on tuesday...its very 1st time out..dug down to it with the big hob on a kill and it was in there mixing it..and also we dug it out of a stop end with a dead bunny on its own a couple of hours later...It worked its little socks off. Couldnt fault it. My little Micro jill did the same..she had 3 up a stop end when we thought we had emptied the warren with the bigger jills and hob. . . I wouldnt have a micro as my only Ferret but as part of a team they most definately have their uses. . . A lot of people keep small lines of ferts but dont call em micros and there probably not micros... we all get hung up on names and types.. I like a small fiery fast jill thats fearless. . . good thing with the small lines is that you can fit more of them into your carrying box. Quote Link to post
