alimac 882 Posted October 10, 2012 Report Share Posted October 10, 2012 I can't knock the b&f box or collar, heard folk say they ain't that accurate but iv never done anything but open up bang on where you should.. Just got a ortovox (I think) collar as a spare, all I can say is I'm glad it's a spare, it's as big as something I'd put round the neck of a lurcher, having said that I did say that about the b&f when they first came out and not had a problem with it. I thought the same about the ortovox collar at first but then thought if the dogs neck and collar cant get up a tube the dogs body wouldn't stand a chance of getting through. This one here has been very well used with no problems at all. At the end of the day every locater on the market will find your dog. Your right enough jessdale, I was kindly given it to use as a spare on busy days so wasnt going to turn it down, had a play about with both collars this morning & both gave the same readings off the b&f box.. downsview 448 Posted October 11, 2012 Report Share Posted October 11, 2012 (edited) had a chat with a few mates that have done a fare ammount of terrier work they werent very complimentary about the deben terrier fider they all praised the b&f locator not just for ease and reliability of use but also for after sales service which they say is 2 nd to none most of the deben sets found there way to ferreters or as part of the backfill. richlee 73 Posted October 11, 2012 Report Share Posted October 11, 2012 i been dig'n with the ortovox 3 plus for 2 years now ,simple to use and right on , the only problem is that finding the ortovox d1 transmitter box that fits on the dog collar, it is impossible to find in the usa , anybody know of a web-site to buy it from , i have a friend that needs one , i need a spare ?
