wiganlad2008 0
I have recentley been going back out with a mate with the air rifles after a number of years of doing over sports We used to shoot rabbits but he tells me there rarer then hens teeth round here now and he hasn't seen any for the last two years He has permisson in what I would class as woodlands the problem is the canopy of trees is very high and almost impossible to see the pidgeons in the trees because of leaves, there are rafts of them you only have to make a noise and they take flight There around 3 meadows in the woodlands yet they seem to stick in the trees and fly in and out Any tips on spotting them or the best times etc to get them? kanny 20,597
its hard at the moment with the leaf cover like you say but it wont be long now before the leafs are gone i cant wait to get started again.... shooting them as they come in to roost is going to be your best bet.... get in the wood a hour or two befor dusk look for the trees with alot of droppings and feathers around them get your self hidden if you cant make a hide and keep all skin coverd ( hands and face) and make slow movements when taking aim 1 Quote Link to post
