bobcullen79 1,495
Hi All... I got up my Only permission yesterday. And, I was instantly alarmed by the lack of rabbits I seen. Left the gear in the van and went for a walk over to a stand of pine in the middle of a paddock, which usually holds. Almost every hole had a pile of greyish shite in the hole, about 25 holes. Some of it looked turd (big turd) shaped and some of it looked like it had been slopped in with a big spoon. All of it contained lots of seeds, like Pheasant grain. So I`m wondering what is it as Ive never come across so many holes with dirt in, Fox maybe, or poison? It looks like they have been letting other people on, cos the place is now f****d, Half back filled holes, cover cut back on neighbouring field margins, and whole warrens filled in. Im ready to walk, but Ive no where to go. Why the fat prick in the office didnt tell me on the phone, before my 100+ round trip I dont know. Quote Link to post

bobcullen79 1,495
Not good when others are on your spot . How comes your so unlucky with the permo where are you ?????? Theres not a lot around here Jamie, I live in a seaside town thats only got 2 roads in and out of it. Your looking at a good half hour drive before you see any worthwhile fields. Theres a small farmers field about a 10 min drive from mine and I know of at least 4 people all flying their birds on the same ground, thats how bad it is local to me, Im not even sure it has any game on there. Defo not Yew berries. Its pretty much the same as the mixed corn I feed my hens. Quote Link to post

NEWKID 27,047
Loads of badger shit in the holes on a bit of ours last week, that what it sounds like to me Quote Link to post
rob190364 2,594
I saw exactly the same thing yesterday, a warren that was quite productive last year but of the 10-12 holes at least half of them had a massive sloppy shit right at the entrance.....my lurcher marked it and then started digging at the hole which she never does for rabbits. I assumed it was a fox because the holes weren't that big, they hadn't been dug out that much....do foxes shit in the entrances or is it usually badgers? these were proper massive sloppy ones, as in the size of a big dog shit. It was like they'd been strategically placed at the entrance for some bizarre reason!!! Quote Link to post
