On the shore

Cheers Mate

Aye she is looking not too bad at the moment. I am waiting to hear back from the local farmer to see if I can shoot his fields for geese and the greylag are coming and going all day I can't wait. I am giving her plenty of training as hope to have her beating for pheasants on a local shoot starting in a few weeks but one day she is brilliant and the next like she is crazy and real puppyish so time will tell.

Best

Stuart

Scaup !! We don't get any here. We get loads of wigeon but only when it gets cold and lots of mallard but scattered about in small groups. It will be interesting to see what weather we get this winter and see how many woodcock come in . Last winter hardly any and the two hard winters before you were genuinely tripping over them. I am hoping for a hard winter and plenty of woodcock as they would be great for the dog to work.

Good luck with the canada's

I was out this morning doing more training with my young black lab Corbie. It was a cracking morning with greylag moving out in the bay and quite a few mallard going to and from the shore.

  • 2 weeks later...

Finished up last Saturday with 24 Scaup and 2 Tufted. All shot before 8am. It was a hectic hours shooting. Stayed on in the hide and took a mug of tea and a few photos, ducks were still bombing into the decoys. Could have shot 100 easy by 10am. Got some fantastic photos! Hopefully heading back this weekend for another go.
