trigger2 3,145
had bird over today to take my 11 year old nephew out on his secound ferreting trip with his first ever ferrets. (a nice couple of gill kits) we got to our spot for the day and set off to our first set of warrens which my old dog trigger and rays bryn both looked over, there was no one home. anyway the next 2 or 3 warrens again didnt give us a scent and produce a mark for us. so off we went on to the next warren under a small tree and my old dog trigger give a mark which is something he dont always do, the mark was secounded by bryn so we netted up and within a minute or so we had a bolt followed by a secound into another net. after the first 2 we got another mark about 50yards from that warren, nets on ferrets down the kits couldnt seem to find anything so i put one in the box and all of a sudden a young rabbit went to bolt and saw my nephew then turned straight back into the ferret who must of grabbed the rabbit as it squeeled. luckily she let it go and come out so we picked the nets up and moved off. we walked about for a while longer and managed to bag another 2 rabbits and a half grown one by the end of the day. the kits worked well for there secound outing. one appears to go deep and the other stops uptop of the warrens. all in all not a bad day. end of day shot 2 Quote Link to post

bird 9,916
was a nice day for the young fella , got few rabbits and he was well happy. Jon dog trigger done well, when he marks it a quick look, where as Bryn will scratch at the berry, they both work well as a team .Glad the lad had some rabbits, as it can get boring for young'uns if not much going on on top , he is very keen so far , and enjoyed the day . The young ferrets did well really as it was only there 2nd day out, and as jon said 1 was going in deeper than the other, but plenty of time yet she should come as good as the other .Looking forward to the next trip out . Guest vin
nice one lads...I bet young Kieran's happy as can be with his 2 Jills. Sounds like a nice combo..One goes deep and flushes em up top for the other to bolt. . .Great little team. nice to see old trigger out with the boys for a bit of steady fun. All we need now is a nice little Lurcher or a marking up dog for Kieran and he will be fully kitted out. love that last picture of him with the end of day shot. Quote Link to post
