George Kinloch 16
Just a quick question. At the moment I only have a motorbike for transport. Is it ok to put the ferrets in their ferret box and strap them to the back when I go ferreting? Completely securely. Just seeing if its been done before. Cheers George Quote Link to post
Giro 2,648
As kids we took them on push bikes.. imagine they will just curl up and kip Quote Link to post
Bunny Boiler 177
I personally only have a bike for transport. I do the same mate. Just make sure you have a strap round you, so if they come loose, they dont drop off the back. Mine seem fine with it. Atb, BB Quote Link to post

TOMO 26,340
Yep did the same first on push bike, then on motorbike,,, you just have to be inventive,,, a good rucksack for carrying your catch home.... In fact I know two lads that used to go lamping with a lurcher on a motorbike , they used to wedge the dog between them Quote Link to post
lurche 48
lol i saw a geezer riding down the a64 on a ped the other day with the most amount of fishing gear ive ever seen, cant see any reason it would bother ferrets if secure Quote Link to post
B.P.R 2,798
if the ferrets are in their box i guess they wouldnt care if they was in a car or on a jumbo jet Quote Link to post
Jamie m 668
Allways used to get a puncture on the bike when they cut the hawthorns was a nightmare . And sods law the wind was blowing at you lol , the preferred mode of transport as kids was the bus got some funny looks mind , was a bummer if you got chased by the game keeper and your standing waiting for a bus : ) 1 Quote Link to post
bulljack 480
i know a man who did it for years on a honda 90 with a terrier box fitted to the back and a pipe on the side for a bar and spade to sit in, he had terrier and ferret in same box Quote Link to post
Guest cookiemonsterandmerlin
Brings back memories of struggling with the kit in first place then catching rabbits and wobbling home with them hocked over the bars. Have you though about getting a givi baseplate rack and making some sort clip on system for your box to the plate ATB Cookie Quote Link to post
Malt 379
Had some fella pick a kitt up off me on a motorbike when I bred a litter 4 years or so back. Kids were amazed when they came home from school and I told them it went away on his back in a rucksack! They, thought the kitt went away with its head popping out the top of the rucksack like Stuart Little! Quote Link to post
George Kinloch 16
Lol yeah I do need a luggage rack but the money situation isn't so that I can get one. I'm sure they will be fine. Just really looking forward to getting them out again. It's only thief second trip and if the first one is to go by. They are both naturals. Thanks for the advice. Will let u all know how they get on. Quote Link to post
