most crosses will do deer and rabbit just do your homework on the parents of the pup which will stand you a better chance of your pup doing them .....i dont no much about collie crosses but there some good ones and bad ones in all crosses mostly down to the people who keep em ......good luck with your search h j ...

As you say, most crosses will do most quarry, its the individual dog that counts and the people who keep them.

Wont be for a while yet, but no harm in reasearch

take your time hj you will find the right dog iam sure.. be your own judge of what you want ....one thing is for sure if you get a pup of someone on here or other sites you will be able to tell what there dogs have done in the past always take your time with your homwork and the end result should be what you want ... :victory:;)

I guess the main thing is to get a pup from tested parents, also decide what you want the dog to do "before" you buy a pup. Don't pick a Beddie/Whippet for ferreting and then change your mind and decide you want it to become a fox and deer specialist( when legal) :)

when you decide the time is right to have a lurcher if theres any germanshepherd x greyhound litters it may pay to check them out.i got mine from heart of wales on here, and it looks like the racier one out of the litter.and though mine hasnt caught anything yet.they are only about 7/8months old and i want to hold her back.she has shown a lot of interest in the deer ,and there is a lot of deer here munty & fallow,[never seen a roe so dont know if there here].only the other day she was on the heels of a deer vanishing into the scrub, luckily she is good on recall.and came back when i shouted to her.as i think she would end up damaged and seems to immature yet to be working.

i think a good saluki x or a good bull x is the ideal dog for roe and rabbit.
