But sometimes a dog might not be very good a the job you want it to do. I don't have any definitive answer as I had one the same last year and I couldn't get it to work as it was Fcuking useless! buster gonads 862 Posted October 6, 2012 Report Share Posted October 6, 2012 If it was mine i,d let it see plenty of rabbits but i,d keep it on a lead for a month, let it see rabbits going into cover but dont let it off, then in a months time take it out on a slip and let it run as the rabbits are going into cover, if it doesnt follow them in get a Plummer or Spanial cross, and find him some other work, buster. toby63 1,236 Posted October 6, 2012 Report Share Posted October 6, 2012 ive got lakie and hes cracking at working cover and will only yap if he as seen whateuer hes scenting.got mine in cover at 7 month i use to throw stones in to make a noise so he went in to investegate never looked back now. lakeland92 17 Posted October 6, 2012 Author Report Share Posted October 6, 2012 thanks for replys i took him out today and braught some bits of chicken with me and threw them in bush and he was straight in and bolted a couple. no not working him with a lurcher working him with other terriers but he never follows them into cover but lets see if he does now hes been in and bolted a couple.
