If its luxating patella it can be passed on to pups to a lesser or even more severe degree especially if the prospective sire has it or carrys a recessive gene for it

 

if you were considering breeding the bitch in the future I would suggest you research this first as the research I did when I discovered my bitch had it advised against breeding any dog with this fault.

my nuttall bitch has just started with this and we are trying to avoid surgery. I have her on the tread mill as this keeps the leg on the ground and helps retain the muscle and keep it strong. so far so good..... I have also given hydrotherapy to her..... trouble is it can be expensive unless you know someone with the equipment.

seems to be common amongst nuttall types the one i had was nuttal lines aswell.
