freelance 448
why use innertube pal the half hitch an full hitch should work fine, an are ye keeping tension on the lines whilst running out?? Its a preset net mate running out of a basket, you have to put some sort of band or grommet over the half hitch to hold it in place because there will be no tension on the top and bottom lines when nets loaded in basket so they will come undone, i agree about keeping tension when running out and more so in a traditional web Cheers Atb Quote Link to post
smithie 2,443
i dont quickset but i think the pegs will be long enough and thick enough, i would want the top line tight and the bottom slack. Quote Link to post

I agree smithy, but for some reason the top line goes saggy and the bottom line is tight at times, am thinking that maybe when i threaded the net and put the poles on it, i maybe somehow ended up with a slightly longer bottom line than the top. And that,s what is possibly fooking the net up. Maybe i should start again adding the poles to it and try to keep the top and bottom lines same length when starting with the first pole and adding the new ones every five yrd ? smithie 2,443
take each peg off spin it over and re attach it then it will be tight at the top and bottom will follow contours of the ground better. failing that learn the proper way Quote Link to post

Guest scramble
As Bill has already mentioned use a clove hitch top and bottom. If the ground your setting on is mostly the same then you can cut a small notch for your top lines to grip round before you put your bands on. your bottom lines are too short if your tops are sagging or you could be running on uneven ground.
