longnetting top line height..?

just made 4 stop nets and a couple of traditional long nets , what would be the best height to set the topline at..?

Do you not find rabbits when hitting the net at speed tend to come back over the top line at 18-20" laying the net flat ?.

yes it happens but less often as the season goes along, at the start theres more rabbits to catch. if you get a few between the pegs it might happen, more so if the pegs are far apart. i like to have the top line tight as i can to it cant be pulled down so easily, it does not aways go out like that but we try

If you have the right amount of bagging / slack, and with no tension in the net , only in the top and bottom lines, and a bit less in the bottom line if the ground is uneven, and with your pegs sloping slightly away from the direction of the feeding rabbits , this should tangle them and stop them bouncing back out. It may still happen on the odd occasion , but with everything in place it will drastically reduce the number of escapees. Good luck mate.

ive put 100% bagging on them , 12 on the 4, sixs, and 20 on the 10 yarder , set them at 20" had them roughly at that , happy days
