must have shot thousands of starlings when we was kids we use to get massive flocks roosting in our local wood by the time they left the ground was 2inch thick in droppings.... now i feel guilty :icon_eek: ,,,,, nice pics

I was brought up in Shropshire and I can still remember vividly, the huge flocks of starlings that would congregate every afternoon in late sept/oct, fly in strange circles, that were like a shoal of fish, and then disappear.

 

My folks who are now very elderly but still live in the same house, say the starlings have all gone in the numbers we knew them!

A very intricate plumage if folk took take the time to look :thumbs: They used to be the staple diet of my ferrets back in the 70's when I was a kid, chuck out some old bread on the back lawn, and then whack them with the airgun :D
