Done it once while lamping with my dog..she had not long come out of season and was almost fit...but I just pushed her to far and ended up at the Emergency vets and dog on a drip..It was close that she didnt make it...I know the signs with her now and always keep a close eye on her as she will willingly do it again if i am daft enough to let her. . .its all about knowing your dogs limitations..because the dog sometimes just doesnt have a stop valve...lol

Carried a few off the field in my time, once my own dog who didn't even run anything but went all shakey one time,I now carry in my dog first aid bag electrolites and water and for a quick fix if the dog ever need one a mars bar and a bottle of flat coke.

I ran my old saluki dog too much one day when he was younger. Ran one too many hares. I had to carry him to the car and then he started twitching really bad. I got him home and gave him electrolytes and his meal and he came round. Live and learn.
