moondoggy 0
Hi all, I fancy getting a silenced .410 for close range pigeon and squirrel shooting. Can anyone recommend makes and models to consider? Thanks in advance, Paul. Quote Link to post

PLEDGEY 496
I bought a Baikal stealth a couple of weeks a go. I get rats, magpies, pigeons, jackdows and squirrels in the garden. The wife, and the dog, didn't like the sound of the Winchester SX3, it also blew big chunks out the lawn. The .410 is a lot quieter. The sub sonics don't make much noise at all. They aren't as quiet as a sub sonic 22lr with a mod, but compared to a 12g it's nothing. Even the high velocity rounds just got a crack to them, but still quiet enough so you don't need ear muffs. At first it's a bit strange trying to shoot cause you have this bloody great mod on the front, so you're a bit unsure where exactally to point it. But after about 10 shots shooting at cans or cardboard boxes you soon get to know where to point it. Since i got mine i have been out evey night round the fields, i love it. It cost me £335 which i thought was cheap enough. I also bought 250 cartridges for £50. Quote Link to post
saintsman54 15
I have the pedretti .410th and it is a brilliant tool. However was a present so not sure how much it was. Quote Link to post
Rimfireboy! 1,463
I found eley fourlongs to be by far the quietest .410 cartridges in my modded fourten. Even quieter than the two inch carts. No muzzle crack, just hear the shot pushing through the air. Quote Link to post
saintsman54 15
I have found the same the eley fourlongs are best in mine too. Quote Link to post

I shot a rat today, that was on the bird table, with the .410, using Eley subs. Asked the Wife how loud she thought it was and she said she could hardly hear a thing. Bearing in mind she was about 6 yards away in the kitchen. Makita, yeah, love it. LXT600 18Volt Lithium-ion pack. Got fed up with the old 12volt stuff, so i treated my self. £596 delivered, 'Buy Now' price off Ebay, cheap as chips!!. Quote Link to post
