jhiggins 48
Out working the ferrets yesterday and i noticed that a couple of them had some tiny orange eggs around their back ends Anyone come across this before? Is it a vet job or can i treat it at home. Any help much appreciated Quote Link to post
bobcullen79 1,495
I dont know what to suggest as Ive not come across it, but Im sure there was a thread on here about worming ferrets and someone said ferrets dont usually pick up heavy infestations of worms, and, due to a short digestion tract - didnt require worming. I dont know how true this is. Someone more knowledgable should be along soon... Make sure you wash your hands lol Quote Link to post

kinderbeano 13
iv seen those before..never caused a problem for mine, seem to go away after a while..a dose of ivormectin or something from the vet would do no harm anyway, its not that expensive. Quote Link to post

jhiggins 48
Back from the vets, confirmed as Harvest Mites. She treated it with some front line and said that it should not return as it is a summer time problem. Thanks for all the replies! Quote Link to post
