Anti bear trap introduced to the mark 2. Both Mk1 and 2 look similar to the Hw97 on which it is based.

Then a lighter, better balance to the mark 3 along with a bull barrel and beautiful stock.

dam it! forgot about the beartrap and bull barrel. its way too early this morning and i cuaght a chill out last night :(

About sometime around 1998 to 2000 Barny. The answers given are very good and correct.

The rifle was developed in appearance rather quickly. The TX200HC made it's debut around this time period too I think.

The Mk.I was actually a very sweet-shooting rifle with a nicely designed and very attractive stock for the time of its introduction. It was stepped and tapered from about four inches forward of the trigger, the usual point of balance. It set it apart from the HW97K, with which, the action looked very alike. It was lovely to shoot with but, it didn't quite match the HW77 it was set out to compete with. The TX200HC carbine however, really is a serious contender as a Hunter Field Target (HFT) rifle.

Today. I have a TX200HC .177 carbine which is amazingly accurate. Unquestionably, the best .177 calibre sporting air rifle I've ever had.

But, I also own both an HW77 and the TX200 rifle. Both are .22. I have tried to shoot both as honestly and as precisely as I can to see which has the better accuracy. It's the HW77 that shades it in my hands.

But, for all that done, the TX200 rifle is a genuine pleasure to own and shoot and it's smooth accuracy and reliability as a hunting weapon is perfect. No worries!

Best wishes.

Thank you pianoman for your input, I was goig to to toss a coin tx200/hw77.now it will be hw77

The next item will be a scope I was thinking of the Hawke Sport 3x9x40/50,any input on that.

Regards Barny.

I'd recommend the Leapers 3-12x44, great scope for the money, clear optics, very well built. It'll leave the loading port clear on the HW77 when fitted, mounted on a Sportsmatch 039c one piece, very low, 2mm clear of the action.

Unfortunately I believe the Leapers are only available mail order from either JSR or this outlet:
