Wild Boar

Recommended Posts

As many already know, wild pigs were released into the British countryside some time ago, there are several sounders of feral pigs in Kent, The Forest of Dean, Sussex and Devon.

As wild creatures, I suppose they belong to no one.

The state says they can be hunted, firstly with the land owners permission, and secondly, with suitable fire power- rifles.

I am wondering what others think of the bow ? It is light, almost silent, cheap, and need no license. It might be illegal for hunting purposes in the UK, but it is allowed in France, Poland, Turkey and others countries. Has anyone been abroad to hunt ?

The boar in the southern counties matter little in relation to your question because as you say it is illegal......what's more, I would hate to think that some clown with little experience was running

Would love to try some coon hunting with hounds at night. Have a good trip Lanesra & dont forget to squeal like a pig boy. LOL

But, you can buy a plane ticket to the states and fill your boots and get shown the way by experienced bow hunters

A few friends bowhunt. Where I hunt you need to get a ticket to go hunting with a bow, one thing I would like to do one day when I get the time. From all that ive heard from friends in Europe, the bowhunters from the states are top of the tree (geddit).

Just got given a magazine from a fella that is into big game hunting, safari style, lots of bow hunting for sale.

Sorry if its a naive question.......but for what reason would wild pigs be released into the countryside over here in the first place ?..............if not to be hunted

Don't remember exactly so could be wrong but I think it was either escapees or an anti group set them free......Kent Sussex boarders have a decent population
