methods of backfilling,jcb not allowed

Recommended Posts

reading this theres a lot digging mid tube if there were to let the dog work its quarry into a stop end then there s no need to bridge tubes just fill it back in but if you were to break through midtube then a couple of big flat stones or some lumps of wood to bridge the tube then backfill , simpules

to me it depends on the day whats there sometimes branches wont be used, but at the end of the day the hole gets filled.

cant believe people are using branches as a back fill, thats why so many earths have "sink" holes around the country

branches jamed in the side walls at the bottom of the stopend few sods then fill never left a sink hole

all ways bridgh it wit thick branch then big sod on top of branch fill in all the gaps wit sod then start trowing soil back in keep standing on it so its nicely compacted always a pile of soil on top trow a big broken branch over the pile keep live stock from walking on it

good topic this :D . we used to throw allsorts into the backfill big old logs roots slabs of rock. etc. untill i once dug down to a favourite bitch down through one of our old backfills to find her in amongst a pile of old roots. stones branches. and two foxes. she had been given a right old kickin. not only the face but her back leg and the soft tissue around her tush. had been chewed on. :bad: she made a full recovery but it was a close call. and on hindsight wee were to blame. for being lazy. ever since then what comes out goes back in. and nothing else :icon_redface: .i dont do the digging anymore but the best advice i got when i started out was. dig deep and throw uphill :D . happy hunting.

Well how we do it is pretty simple, pick up spade, get a spadeful of dirt and throw in hole, then repeat until hole is full,

Cheers fd

Bang on.f**k all that putting logs, branches ,rocks etc in the bottom to try and rebuild the tube then the next time you work that earth if the gear ends up in the same blockend you have to dig through all that shit.

This reply says more about you and your Terriers than I reckon you realise.
