stabba 10,745
Been on a dig with a "pocket rocket" and I was impressed. Never seen one on the lamp. The whippers used in these crosses aren't shivery little things. The cross we had out with us was bigger than my wheaten/grey What tts would you say it was stabs?? coz im willin to bet it were'nt no 19tts thing Quote Link to post

Stabs 3
22/23 maybe Stabba. Smashing animal Quote Link to post
birddog 1,354
a big fast dog can learn to run slower with its quarry, a big dog with heart or fight will always be better than a wee dog with heart and fight, if i were setting out to breed for the job probably bull / grey x deerhound or saluki / grey 2 Quote Link to post

stabba 10,745
22/23 maybe Stabba. Smashing animal most firstx bull/grey bitches i seen in the late 's and early 90's levelled out at around the 22/23inch mark stabs..although very cloddy aswell and were considered litter wastage unless used by terrier men...That is a big size for a firstx whip/bull ..was there any greyhound in the whippets makeup to throw at that size? Stabs 3
It's all Browny stuff as far as i know so maybe Stabba. I was offered a genuine half cross from Radgee and that was because it just hadn't made the size those lads wanted Quote Link to post
malc1 544
if i had a choice of bull x grey or pointer x grey id go for the pointer Quote Link to post

Stuart Rope 22
Callum is tht a staffy x whippet. Back to a staffy cause the legs look quite small or this was a windup Quote Link to post
dogs-n-natives 1,182
Its not just about catching foxes or any other quarry, its almost more important that a dog can get the job done quickly and humanely which is where a bigger dog will win every time IMHO spot on that. Quote Link to post
toby63 1,236
if the dog as plenty of fire and guts in it should do the job. Quote Link to post
Chid 6,589
if the dog as plenty of fire and guts in it should do the job. aye but why have a wrestling match , a fox dog should have the deed done in seconds not minutes and imo a dog that aint much bigger than a fox is going to take time to kill 1 Quote Link to post
moonlighter 1,164
I always finish the job to be honest. 9 times out of the 10 the fox is still alive (unless your a big fat knacker who carnt run, lol) when you arrive at the seen. I'm not one for standing watching the fox die, so for me catching ability is more important than killing ability. Some dogs have different technique, some pin some shake. Quote Link to post
