ferret15 0
i would turn my back on him as his inqusitive (spelling?) nature should make him come to you try crouching down as well Quote Link to post
snoopdog 1,256
it will grow out of it .what ithink you are doing wrong is trying to make a move ie get closer to it if it dosnt come ..one way is if it dosent come turn your back on it and ignore it ..it will then come to yer ..and when it does go through the normal motions and make a fuss ...you no the rest but when recalling dont aproach the pup ..let the pup do the walking ....paitence is the name off the game slowly slowly Quote Link to post
Guest world.hunters
iv tried the crouching down and when i turn away and walk he will follow me, but then do the same lol, Quote Link to post
snoopdog 1,256
dont walk away just sit there call it over if it dosent come turn your back and ignore it it will then come sniffing say its name again and when it listens give it a good old pat .. youi will get there W.H. Quote Link to post
ferret15 0
if you are still strugling after trying all of above keep some of his fave food in your pocket and when he comes to you give him a small bit soon he will anticapte it and come to you and if say his name every time you feed him he will soon come running Quote Link to post
DUCKWING 302
MATE , WHATEVER YOU DO ....... DONT GIVE UP ON THE RECALL ......... ITS THE BASIS OF A LOT OF TRAINING YOU MIGHT LOOK LIKE A RIGHT PRATT BUT .......... IF THE PUP STOPS TURN AND CROUCHING DOWN RUN AWAY FROM THE PUP WHINEING LIKE A PUP , AS THE PUP COMES ALONG SIDE GIVE IT LOADS OF FANNY AND A LITTLE TREAT OF SOMESORT , IF THE PUP STILL PERSISTS AFTER RUNNING AWAY DROP ON THE GROUND FACE DOWN IN A BALL WHINEING ... NO PUP CAN RESIST .......... BUT ......... BELIVE ME ....... YOU WILL LOOK A COMPLETE LOONEY THE BEST BIT OF ADVICE IN TRAINING I CAN GIVE IS ............. NEVER GIVE A COMMAND / SHOUT ITS NAME....... WHICH THE DOG MIGHT IGNORE ... IT BECOMES A HABIT TO DISREGARD THE COMMANDS VERY EASILY GOOD LUCK DUCKWING Quote Link to post

heart of wales 19
Where a lot of people go wrong is where they train dogs,I like to get up early before the farm starts, with whatever pup I am training, limit the distractions i.e. other dogs different smells just you and the pup,if you can get the pup to come five feet before you it wont belong before it comes all the way, good luck and remember be patient.
