gnasher16 30,121
Some would say having thread on THL was close to bone ........What a strange comment to make.............How on earth could a bunch of strangers discussing a subject in the news be seen as being " close to the bone "
WILF 46,832
I think the April's mother asked people to wear the pink ribbons to show their support for the searchers etc. If that's what helps her deal with this then I see no harm. Never mind the ribbons, she should have bought a f*****g watch and kept an eye on her toddler..... Wilf i cant agree with that, children need a childhood , they cant be wrapped in cotton wool. Its the filthy evil scum that our laws protect, bring back hanging and the birch or even better, just turn them out on the streets without protection and let society decide what justice should be delt. Mate I agree with you, when we had the small holding when I was a kid I was out playing on my own over all the hop fields and f*****g about with a 410.......different times mate, sad but a fact
Nik_B 3,790
WILF it's mainly media hysteria that makes people think their kids are in more danger than they used to be. I'm more concerned about the huge percentage of childrenw ho hardly ever venture outside and lead sedentary lifestyles leading to obesity and diabetes. Those kids don't even get a chance at leading a normal life. Most kids are murdered or interfered with by someone they know, this has pretty much always been the case and there is very little that anyone can do about it unless we are all going to stop trusting friends parents and family members. I appreciate it might not be appropriate considering that a little girl is missing and probably dead but the statistics show kids are far less likely to get killed today and child murders are pretty much the same as they were 30 years ago. Add on to that the fact that there are CCTV cameras everywhere and CRB checks on anyone who has contact with children and I would say that all in all children have never been safer on average. "Figures from the Office of National Statistics show that in 1976 the number of children who died (from accidents, violence, illness and disease) was 12,000. In 2005, it was fewer than 5,000." Correct. This disgusting event , although thankfully a rare thing, will have happened throughout the ages but with todays media and the internet we all know about it straight away. When people see it and read about everywhere it can seem like a daily event. How many of us that grew up in the 60's and 70's watched the news or read a paper before we were 16 and started work?. Today my kids read it on facebook!.

ArchieHood 3,692
They would only charge him if the CPS were convinced they had a case against him, which they now must have.I'm not convinced he has done this on his own and think he has led the police on a wild goose chase to divert the attention from elsewhere. fireman 10,917
Like i said before i had a mate who got murdered and hasn't been found but dna evidence found in his van put the fella away and the perverting the course of justice charge could be due to him getting rid of the body so it can't be found and used as evidence, don't need a body these days to get a conviction but them dna evidence only proves she was in his car not he killed her.
