When you feed frozen food do you defrost it first or just bung it in?

I did wonder where my dog came into it lol, I defrost now but I thought the same as ideation about in winter fresh meat freezing and if it effects the ferrets ( or dog ! ) at all. Thanks for the replies

Freeze everything for ease of storage etc and put it in a wee plastic box the night before i feed it to defrost

I leave mine out of the freezer for a few hours before feeding it to them (dog and ferrets) but if it's still slightly frozen I'll still give it to them, don't see why not.

I know I'm not alone in feeding frozen stuff to the ferrets as I've read of others doing it on here, frozen meat in warm weather doesn't stay frozen very long. Frozen stuff is ok for the dog too I just drop it in a bucket of water for a bit to take the ice off it and then give it them, obviously I'm talking chicken carcasses here not blocks of mince.

Fed semi frozen trip, in block form my self once.. Terrier ended up on a drip

 

Made it shit and spew within a inch of its life..
