Stuart1985 256
Evening all Just looking for a call bird for my larsen trap, I have tried eggs and nest tin foil bread etc. Not had any luck so just though I would see if anybody has one, I'll return the favour if I manage to trap one. I stay in fife but travel a lot with work throughout central Scotland Edinburgh etc. Thanks Stuart Quote Link to post

Stuart1985 256
Yeah I know, you got to catch them start of the year however I have been asked to get rid of them by land owner who hates them, shot a few but a member on here gave me the trap. Quote Link to post

Stuart1985 256
I don't understand your question? If your asking why do I want a call bird even tho I know it's the wrong time of year, it's because I chap that is allowing me to shoot in his land in return I have to control the magpies. I have shot a few however I would like to see if trapping them throughout the week will happen, not allow to shoot only weekends, Quote Link to post
alan.rob 4
early next year before they fully fledged get ya self up to a nest & stick a net over it,,, you'll have more call birds than enough................................. Quote Link to post
ftm 3,357
its very hard to catch thistime of year mate but a mate caught 7 last week in one go using a dead bunny [large ladder trap type] if your desperate and can travel newcastle area i will see if he gets anymore [bit costly for a magpie tho ]-billy Quote Link to post
