Lamping and ferreting session

Recommended Posts

We went for an overnight session again, early hours yesterday(saturday) morning, got there at around 1 am and started lamping. It was a really clear with some breeze due to being to high on the hills. It was so light, one that of the dogs got out the truck and shot after a rabbit. However the night was cut short for this fella as he cranked toe on a rock..shit start. Luckily we had 3 dogs..and the dogs ran really well, and xena had picked up last rabbit, when bang!!! she hit her ankle on a yet another rock. I was gutted especially how well she was doing.

We finished lamping at 5 and then got 2 hours sleep before we had some breakfast and started ferreting. As 2 of the dogs were knackered, we deciced to hit some permission that dont allow dogs, it needed doing so not all too bad in the end. we finished with 39 rabbits in the bag and two poorly dogs.

as you'll see on the pics......its great place to run the dogs. and also you'll see two lurchers feeling sorry for themselves.

my bitch xena is fine now, hit her wrist and did a nice cut to it. to be honest she is a bit of a fanny and let me carry her back to the truck, until i got back and she started running about again....little fecker. My mates dogs (jimg on here) Smokey, is a little warrior. no matter how injured he gets he'd just keep running. although the smelly litle b*****d (just been eating rabbits) did try his hardest to get in my sleeping bag....so i had to let him...lol
