Carraghs Gem 1,675
Taken a fancy lately to the old toyota dyna Am having notions of trading my current yoke in for one Few questions: Are they juicey on diesel? Can you get a canopy for them like you would a hilux? anyone ever use one for lamping? how hard/costly would it be to install a metal dog box safely onto the back (not tow hitch) ? Does the dyna have any particular common mechanical faults I should look out for? If it ticks all the boxes theres a good chance I may buy one depending on what my insurance company quotes me
loafer 47
We have a toyota dyna, my wife drives it. Ours is the 2.5 and seems quite economical. The newer ones are 3 litre. Never seen canopies for them but anything can be made I suppose. As far as lamping is concerned, this is where it is all going to fall down, with no weight on the back these motors won't back up a wet drive, they are built to carry and 2 tonne on ours wouldn't be uncommon. Without weight, they are bouncy and uncomfortable. You could fix a box on the back easy enough as for faults these motors are bomb proof. We run 3 toyotas and have done so for over 12 years. Their reliabilty is second to none. Hope this has been of some help.
