lampingking 3
For the sake of £4 just put them in , dont think it does the gun any serious damage or they would be in new guns . Quote Link to post

The Seeker 3,048
Silly question but iv never known what snap cap do could someone explain please? Lewis They don't do anything, they just allow you to pull the trigger without fear of breaking the firing pins. Firing a shot gun without snap caps can cause the brittle firing pin to break, I learnt this through experience....... Quote Link to post
The Duncan 802
Modern guns simply don't need them 1 Quote Link to post
SEAN3513 7
As said .....only needed for dry firing they are basically a spring loaded dummy cartridge .....that take the shock out of the firing pin to prevent it (them) breaking Quote Link to post
The one 8,529
Thought they took the pressure of the firing pin spring once you left them fired ?. Quote Link to post
SEAN3513 7
As above i believe......to prevent damage when test firing Quote Link to post
Wino 3
I have a old AYA no.3 and was told by a very well-known gunsmith to use them, as the firing pins are notoriously apt to break. I agree that in modern guns, no. Quote Link to post
