If its fitted with a moderator as advised above remove it and retest, As its recoilless its doubtful if your scope is faulty, a problem that is sometimes found with poor accuracy especially if its running "Hot" is that the previous owner has overdrilled the transfer port into the the brass breech loading tube and in bad cases this causes the pellet to tip downwards as the pellet probe pushes the pellet into the breech, across the enlarged port this causes lead to be shaved off the nose of the pellet making for pellet instability on firing.

your a true gentleman davy, i will try and fetch it along, the thing is i am a novice at best with spring rifles, so when it comes to pcp's, i am clueless, and its a .22

S410's are very simple rifles to work on as there are not a lot of parts compared to other PCP's. I bought 1 recently and had to re-new several parts due to poor workmanship by the previous owner.

 

For instance....the brass barrel seal holder and barrel when fitted should be tight against each other. They weren't in my case so when i was loading a pellet, the pellet would drop slightly into the small groove so would cause pellet jams and pellet deformities.

 

The trigger guard wasn't aligned correctly with the gauge so the seal between the cylinder and breach block would blow through when firing which again caused inconsistency.

 

The striker had been polished...very poorly and the spring wasn't seating correctly against the striker so again it was causing inconsistencies.

 

I replaced and fixed these things myself and now the rifle is shooting spot on and as it should.

 

If you're not keen on tampering with your own rifle then i'd suggest joining the Air Arms forum and have 1 of the guys on there service the rifle for you. They know the rifles inside out and will guarantee their work and that you will receive your rifle back shooting as it should be

Another vote for checking the barrel band, they're easily knocked and this moves the zero of by miles, also no real need to fill it to the max 190, my .177 performs far better when filled to 160ish. Come over to the air arms forum there's loads of info on there inc. strip down guides, parts are relatively inexpensive and they're easy to work on

i undone the silencer today, and the amount of little bit of lead shavings that come out the end was unreal, could this be the cause?

It certainly could be and it most certainly wont help accuracy at all.

Definitely. It will send the pellets flying. Have a look at the end of the mod and you should see the marks from where the pellets are clipping it. You can roll up some fine sand paper, insert it into the end and twist until you've opened up the hole. Takes a little while but does work. A little bit at a time as it may only need 1mm off. You could also check that the mod adapter is fitted correctly and isn't loose.

Try the barrel band .we had the same problem and found the band was cocked to one side causing the barrel to go left
