LPG filling problems?

Recommended Posts

Just got a duel fuel combo van and I'm finding it difficult to put lpg into it, on both occasions I have attempted I have only managed 88p and 51p, anyone use lpg? do you think there's a fault or is it user error? Or has anyone ever came across this?

LPG is my business; my son is one of the top Autogas converters in UK.

Either your tank is full, but not changing over to LPG, in which case the vehicle is running on petrol.

Or the float valve inside the tank is stuck closed, but the tank is empty.

In either case its not a DIY job.

You need to seek help from a local Autogas converter.

The tank is empty, I'm a mechanic to trade, I removed the fuse for the lpg because once it starts on petrol it automatically switches to gas and will then cut out, I thought it was the one way valve at the filler but that appears to be operating, think I'm going to drop the tank and check the float @ tank? Or if you can perhaps give me a few pointers? The lad I had it from only run it on petrol as his nearest gas supplier was 60 miles away.

great is modern technology :hmm:

have you filled up then?

Not yet, will go to the filling station today, hopefully that's it though, if not I'll drop the tank and check the float on the pump part, had a look and the hardest part of doing that will be to not snap the bolts as they look rotten!
