problem fox

Recommended Posts

hi all,

my next door neighbour has got a problem fox that keeps taking his chickens and he wants me to shoot it with my 12 bore.

just looking for some advice on how to get the bugger as i don't usually do this sort of shooting.

i was thinking of putting down some bait and building a hide, would this work ?

any other tips would be greatly appreciated,

many thanks atb.

it will be a creature of habbit appearing roughly the same time every day, work that out and you will soon sort him.

Can you shoot it from within the house, maybe an upstairs window? Building a hide may work but my guess is the fox may be pretty suspicious.

Get him to lock his hens up, but use one of the dead ones as bait tied to something to stop it snatching and run. Then just keep very still and quiet and wait.

Alternatively carefully placed snares will work 24/7

As stated he will be a creature of habit, if your not sure what time hes comming, tie some bait to some fishing line, and attach the other end to the battery on a cheapo alarm clock, which obviously has to be secured, fox takes bait alarm clock stops, thats your rough guide to what time hes out and about, dont waste your time on a trap mate, just put in a bit of time and you WILL get him, good luck pal.

Stick all of this inside a piece of anchored drainpipe to keep it weatherproof.

Let your bait hang out the end.

Top idea. This really does work
