Cappsytheferreter 1
Hi quite new to ferreting and got a hob that works well but when the warrens clear pokes his head out and when I go to pick him up backs back in again. So I've got to wait for ages for him to fully come out or just grab him really quick It's no real problem just a bit of a pain anyone know how I can make him easier to pick up. Quote Link to post

blond 8
if all else fails tempt him out with a piece of meat, that usually does the trick Quote Link to post
cawleada04 4
Your best to slowly pick him up. My first ferrets where like that. If u grab him they can get scared and will end up taking even longer to get out. If you really can't get him out place a rabbit in front of him. But make sure you are holding on to it you don't want to give him food that he can take back down the hole. Quote Link to post
Carraghs Gem 1,675
We teach our ferrets to come to us when they are playing in the garden use a fox call and reward them with raw meat they catch on pretty quickly and it works most of time Quote Link to post
The one 8,475
Aye most folk get a kit then its in the hutch till its ready to go out ,i reckon you get what you put into them so i try to get them out in and out pipes ,put a collar on them let them come out a pipe with a net on . There no ready made but the first time i take them out they enter the burrow no problems they dont piss about or spent half a hour clawing the necks as its the first time they have seen a collar Quote Link to post

Makes it easier actually putting the collar on them aswell when they're used to it. Bloody hard work putting a collar on a squirmer! Quote Link to post
