hellyer189 93
its been some time since i posted on here and a bit has changed since, i spent ages training my dog to be exactly what i wanted to be and he was coming on great, i enjoyed every time we went out never coming home empty handed. but then i got that dreaded phone call from the missus.....he had bitten her on the hand, at first thought it was a wind up the dog had never shown any agression towards me or the baby or the missus. so when i come home there it is in my face her hand all bloody, so i thought to myself what could have made him do it. she claims he has a shit in his cage and when she put her hand it to take him out he turned and bit. so after a few days of arguing the dog went up to the mothers along with me for a while till i decided it was best for the sake of my relationship to send him to another home. so i asked a mate if he knew anyone trustworthy and same day he was gone i spent a few hours saying goodbye because this is something i didnt want to, so we took him for a walk together just so he could get used to the other dog and the new owners. but it has broken me ever since thinking was it something i could of done to avoid it ect. but the time has come where i need to get back out and start afresh this time things will be diffrent the new dog when i find a worthy contestant will be kenneled outside and not kept inside. ideally what i want is pip back but that wont happen so should i look for similar qualitys in a new dog or try a bitch? thing im worrying about is what if a new dog doesnt match what my expectations are. in my head alot is telling me not to do it but my heart is saying do it ...........HELP 2 Quote Link to post
mally 832
Get your old dog back and kennel him outside, that way your mrs has no need to go near him mate 6 Quote Link to post
Malt 379
Sounds like the dog bit out of fear and felt cornered, but if one of my dogs had done that to my misses for any reason it'd be going one place where it could never come back from.. Quote Link to post
hellyer189 93
cant fella wont sell me him, good on him really beacuse at least i no hes there for life. i agree it was out of fear, but couldnt have him pts because it was out of character and he has been fine ever since. so just one of them freak things. Giro 2,648
Start a fresh, it was bad luck.. I would continue to envolve your mrs with raising a new pup, she my have to help out if your held back at work or have to go away for a few days.. It will re build both your confidence.. For me if you keep them seperate she will reinforce her own fears and these may be passed on to children.. Dogs are not to be feared but respected and they need to learn their place in the pack.. I hope it all come good for you all bet it was hard on you both Edited September 27, 2012 by Giro 6 Quote Link to post

The one 8,467
Dogs are better kept outside ,then if need be your mrs could let it out for a run round the garden but otherwise she wouldn't need to touch it . 1 Quote Link to post
pernod 466
Hi mate, you seem to have a bit of bad luck with dogs, last year it was a bull cross you were rehoming. I'm sure its not only me only me that can see a pattern here???? Yours in sport pernod Quote Link to post
hellyer189 93
Not really a pattern when something like this is completely out of my control! Quote Link to post
BEARINATOR 2,867
Not really a pattern when something like this is completely out of my control! Shame you had to get rid though, but SHH has just reminded me about the pup for you that is provisionally booked Quote Link to post
