Mine are out... Like Tomo says its for the kids i have 4 all under the age of 8 (Its more like a zoo than a house at times), And there only out cause its too give the dogs peice, And some where they can be left in peice, And its not that the dogs are aggressive and they'll love the kids iam just one of them thats young kids and dogs shouldnt be left lone too there own devices, Its just the house does my head in at time never mind doing the dogs head in, And plus after a hard night or there sore they'll just want too be left alone........

When there all up abit mine will come back in too the house again,

Just remember a lurcher is 40lb and more of muscle and teeth,,,,

they need there own space and out side is best. And when wet ,even when dried they dont stink your house out,lol the dogs not people .!

yet again we all different so some in some out, i can see the point of real hard workers being outside so thats fine as long as they are warm and dry, ive got my two indoors, i like the bond ive got with the whip x, he never takes his eyes of me, its all down to what they catch so if it works in or out am not bothered.

Im of the opinion that a working dog should be kept outside i think its of benefit all round in every way......not just the mud and shit but also a dog raised up outside will have a far greater tolerance to weather, will warm up quicker cool down quicker, will usually be less likely to carry excess weight infact apart from the obvious theft factor i cant see any reason at all to keep a working dog in the home.

Mine are the same as Paulus dogs, outside and wouldn't dare venture in, back door can be left open all day and they'll stay. The reason is the same as Tomo & Tiny's, I just don't think working dogs and young children mix. I would add that I simply don't like dogs in the house full stop, or rather I don't like 'housedogs' even though I was raised with 'em.

Both dogs have been in in the past, the last time being that last hard winter, both dogs were faultless and slept quietly in the kitchen for a number of weeks, going out by day and returning at night.

I'll end with agreeing with many, in that it really doesn't make any difference what so ever to working ability if a dog lives in.... Oh yer, and loose that bloody harness and train your dog..!!
