Lurcher, in the house or outside in a kennel

having recently gotten a lurcher the missus talked me into keeping him indoors. but i would of prefered to keep him outdoors, she has 2 little cavaliers and i want him away from the soft little things. does anybody else keep there lurchers in the house and how does it work out for them? ive hopefully added a pic of him not sure if it'll work, i currently walk him with a harness on because when he see's people or dogs he jumps all over

Either, less mud in the house if kept outside.

Less chance of getting stolen inside.

Makes no difference to working ability.

If its likely to go for the other dogs then obviously keep them apart.

In or out i don,t think its going to alter there working capabilities , i prefer to keep them in as there are too many light fingered thieving scum c**ts about

Yes it will, certainly in terms of dirt in the house. The flip side of that though is its the wife's problem and I quite like having dogs around the house

My biggest thing about having dogs in the house is when you decide to go away for a couple of days. Now a kenneled dog simple enough can be walked and fed by a friend. When its in the house it needs to be walked more often to have a piss....surely you cant ask someone to come round 3 times a day to let your dog out. What happens if they take your dog out and it gets dirty, would you expect them to clean it before it went back in the house?

See i can get that mate.......atleast they can go there if needed. I do also understand with all the lurchers that get stolen that keeping a dog inside would be a benefit...

I have 1 in the house and 1 outside, dont like having him in the house but have no choice in the matter due to light fingered fuckheads in my area theiving dogs.

With me, it's mainly down to lurchers been mucky filthy scavengers lol. Much better been outside as my mrs goes mad if she comes downstairs to find the lurchers rolling about on the cream carpet after I've just been out lamping, then after they have eaten there tea (barf) or dead rats as she calls it, they start to lick the babies face!

im thinking of building a kennel and run outside, but how do you break them to living out doors, if i let him outside and close the door, he'll howls after about 10 minutes if i forget to let him back in. the neighbours would be complaining in no time with my hound howling all the time
