Squirrel vs Daystate Wolverine .303 100ft lbs airgun

Recommended Posts

In this episode I talk through Jerry Moss's brilliant footage supplied for Country Pursuits TV. Jerry is a Red Squirrel Ranger, it his job to control the population of grey squirrels in the area where the Red squirrels are still living. There are estimated to be only 140,000 red squirrels left in Britain, with over 2.5 million greys. As you can guess Jerry has his work cut out but with this new rifle high power rifle from Daystate he now has enough power to kill them two at a time.

Hope you enjoy it.

I personally don't see the point of having an air rifle of that cal or power

It is after all said and done FAC and a .22 rimmy is around a similer output.

Regarding the "Unsafe Backstop" comment, our view was well off the shooters line of sight and not a scopecam shot. The shooter probably did have a clear and obvious safe backstop.

Had the shooter used the same position of the camera that 2 for 1 would not have been possible.

Lovely shooting by him

Nice edited footage there Malc  buddy.

Awesome power in the hands of a good shot  .

Its good to show what the rifle can also do and not just what it was designed for.

Yes 100 foot pounds is over kill on a squizzer and 4 foot pounds would achieve the same results if the shot was placed in the kill zone, but why not use the 100 if the shot is safe and thats what you happen to be walking about with on that day?

Nice one

Si.
