How many luchers do you keep

I have never owned more than two luchers, unles i am bring on a pup, i dont see the reason why, i know of lads who keep 5/6 what the fek for, if i have to leave one of my dogs at home the one left gose nuts and barkes untill i get home, how many dogs can you work at one time?

Most folk find it hard to find enough work for one dog, two is the optimum number for almost anyone i would think................

One, waiting for a pup out of my mates bitch. But tbh I'm in no great rush, I've bearly got enough work for this dog. I think two is plenty for most, hopefully each having different strengths but equally able to do a few different jobs.

there is at times when 2 may be needed , but there is also collectors in the lurcher game and this is what they do collect them , atb bunnys.

And by the time I find a pup rare it bring it on and get it working to a good standard the other 2 will be slowing down and won't be long off retirement

You would want a lot of work for more than 2.Two is too many most of the time except for injurys or periods of windy weather bearing in mind you might be doing ferreting mooching in the day.

The rest are really collectors,Usally women...?

at the moment i only run one, but looking to bring in another one in the near future......whether it be a pup from proven working stock, or breed my bitch to keep a pup back, i think two lurchers is the ideal amount for anyone to keep......obviously depending on how much work you have for them, the second one comes in handy,especially when the other one has picked up an injury and is in the sick bay, at least you can still get out and have a run with the spare dog.........

You should keep as many as you need. If you haven't got enough work for them all then you've got too many and if you have more work than dogs then you don't have enough, there is no specific number of dogs you should keep

 

It's a wonder some of the members on here can even dress themselves in the morning
