i think thats the point mate, dogs stuck togeather in kennels 24/7 are far more likely to have problems than dogs in a routine that keeps them occupied and mentally stimulated

It wasn't so long ago that we were reading on here about some boy's saluki being killed by his rottweiller. People always think 'it will never happen with my dogs, I know my own dogs' until it does..

yes they are pack animals true, but the (wolf, wild, dingo etc...) are very differnt type animal in (temp) to your (Domecticated) pet dog.I know hounds are kept together maybe 20 at a time, but they

so according to the majority the fact my old dog has been kennelled with another dog/dogs for 10 years without any major incidents and my young dog with him fot the last 5 years is down to luck, :hmm: fook me im off to but a euro millions ticket

if you have any doubts kennell them seperate mate, but its up to the individual to know and understand their own dogs behaviour, or if the dogs are kennelled for long periods of time or in small kennells then the safe option is seperate.

I built the Terriers new quarters last night after her spending a week in the house recovering.

I really like the galvanised panels, easy to make a run out of and look really smart too.

This is her little kennel and run...

I plan to get more galv panels the same and extend the terriers to 3m x 1m and then build the lurcher a 3m x 2m at the side and probably another 3m x 2m spare for if my mates dogs stay over or for when i get a pup etc. I am hoping to get a big concrete base done early next year with proper drainage.

This is what ive got to work with...

That was my original plan and still something i would like to do, but that window is right in the way.

Im going to flatten that sloping rockery thing at the top of the garden so i can push the kennels right back to the fence, and then i might move that window so they can sleep in garage.

Cheers

If people want to kennel dogs up together which ever way they want that's their business. But one thing's a fact, dogs kenneled separately can't fight for any reason! So, you either take the chance with your 100% dogs (if one gets killed then you have learnt summat new) maybe go all ya life without a problem. Or kennel separate and never have to find out. Do what the feck ya want, I know what makes the most sense to me.

There is no drainage at the moment mate, it is rubber matting on the floor.

It will have to do for now because im skint, but in the new year i want concrete bases with drains plumbed into the mains.

Cheers
