thorny 100
Just over a year now, I use her mainly to flush to the lurcher and she is getting the hang of it, but we do a bit of ratting and she loves it. Looking forward to having a full season with her. Cracking little dog to have around the house as well Dont do any ground work and hope she doesnt think she should give it a go. Cheers 4 Quote Link to post

borderbitch 24
nice dog pal how tall is she? Quote Link to post
thorny 100
Thanks very much she is 10.5" tts, so not the biggest, but perfect for disapearing into hollows made by bunnys in the thickest of cover. If theres something in there she will find it. She pulled a large buck with Mixy from thick cover last week. It was kicking the hell out of her and pound for pound probabley weighed more than her. It was nice to see she is gaining in confidence and spirit almost daily. Even my lurcher looked at her as if to say fare play. I was hoping she would of been maybe an inch or two taller, but the way she is going there is plenty of fire in the tank to make up for her size. Just like me she has a good dose of little person syndrome . Given the opportunities I think she will become a good ratting bitch, not really something I do but will have a word with a couple of my permissions to see if I can get her in sheds to see how she does. thorny 100
cheers mate she is a strong little thing. Her sire has to be one of the strongest looking little Russells I have ever seen. Although on a smaller scale she has thrown more to him than her dam, and is now starting to pack muscle on like him also. Quote Link to post

thorny 100
She just started going out with the lurcher as a pup. Lurcher always retrieve live to hand. I used to dispatch the bunny then tease the jack with it . Then place it just a shoulders length in the brambles then a bit further in, and so on and so on. Always using the command "lost", She would go and get it out. Now just the command and a finger point and she is gone. Only thing I have found is she needs a good looking over when we get home the amount of thorns I find in her is crazy. Thanks for all the positive comments, I know little jacks arnt everyone`s cup of tea but for what I want her for she is doing me proud, and a pleasure to have about the place.
