I think your about right, but surely hybrid vigor has a part to play in an F1?

Plus, saluki seem a more agile runner.... the deerhound a stronger animal altogether. Put them together and..... well, f**k knows! but in my minds eye it looks decent!

Also, I think Im allergic to modern greyhounds

By adding Deerhound or Saluki to a Greyhound you are hoping to add stamina, (amongst other things), to speed. By crossing a Saluki to a Deerhound, what would you be adding to either breed ? Don't get

dava best saluki v best deerhound   ground determined winner heavy hill heather deerhound, easyer going saluki

Anyone seen or ran a straight half x saluki deerhound, what were they like as an allround dog pre ban, any pictures ?

i would prefer to have deerhound blood in a lurcher rather than saluki, but thats my opinion so know smart arses question why lol

most deerhounds i see are far too big to take in the field really speaking. the proper bred stuff that romany will hopefully elaborate here, used to be up againt salukis in coursing comps, on the moors and the fens if im not mistaken? i could be wrong, so if one was much better at coursing than the other it would be a pretty pointless coursing comp wouldnt you think? Atb

As much as Ilike deerhounds and their xs the saluki hybreds surely are the first choice for the coursing men?

got a mate that has one, kills foxes one out and catches hares. Just was never keen on deer, he said he had hounds pushing cover and he was waiting with his dog, a fallow came out of the cover, trotted towards him, the dog spotted it so he let the dog off, he let the dog go and it ran out and when the deer ran off the dog just turned around and came back. he's had other dogs catching deer since and the saluki deerhound still isn't keen

dont see any advantage atall .think charti was about right . might put a bit heavier jacket on .and maybe a bit more leg .but if you do your homework you can find that in a saluki anyway..its a misconception to think all salukis are the same .they differ greatly depending on there coo. ;)
