gnasher16 30,550
Love him or hate him the man is a football Legend , Worthy accolade for him ..... and this is coming from someone who follows Arsenal . im a liverpool fan and hate man u but i have respect for fergie and the sence he talks and the way he knows how to handle the media or and he knows how to manage a football team. i hate gary neville as a player but i think he knows his stuff and would make a very good manger if he ever decided to do it Refreshing to read two replies from fans of football, rather than blinkered supporters . I dont think its refreshing i think its f****n horrible !......im sick to the back teeth of all this " respect " bollocks being continually rammed down our throats..................rivalry is good, hating on your opponents is healthy competition.....................next thing we,ll be saying we better not score too many goals incase it offends or upsets the poor goalkeeper !.....its just getting silly now. Guest bezza
Behave yourself Gnash, yes you want to stuff your opponents but hate them? Nah.That comment is not worthy of you. The minority of Man U fans who tried to upset the Hillsborough memorial at Anfield are guys who hate. To me they are lowlife. Every team has them. I think , if caught they should be banned for life. I hate to lose to Liverpool but I couldn't help cheer them when they won the Champions league after being 3-0 down at half time. I've only got two sporting heroes: Muhamaad Ali and Ferguson. They are both proper chaps as you southerners say. But the likes of Shankley, Paisly and Dagliesh come close. When you were in the ring you wanted to beat the guy in front of you but I'm sure you didn't hate him. Certainly not after the fight at any rate. Back in the fifties I can clearly remember clapping a good goal when it was scored by the opposition and occasionally cheering off a team who had stuffed us with class. That was a better way than this viciousness. At the end of the day it's only postcode crap anyway.

Just like these people you see who've just been knocked out of a tournament but laughing and joking when they see themselves on the big screen. Not me. I'm the one who cant sing because i'm pig sick.....dying to be alone to have a good greet... I believe thats "passion"......
gnasher16 30,550
Muhammed Ali was possibly the most hateful man in the history of sport !..............and Alex Ferguson wouldnt be far behind. Im not talking about hating an opponent as a competitor im talking about hating a rival fan.........professional sports people have to act PROFESSIONALLY if you think every fighter should like his opponent thats just unrealistic you earn respect its not given out for free hence you will often see fighters who have a dislike before a fight embracing after they have just earned that respect..............why would Man Utd/Liverpool be respectful to each other they are arch rivals............i detest Millwall and everything the club stands for with every bone in my body......you will never hear me be respectful of a club i have no respect for thats just false............................but thats what society wants football fans to be is false !..... No different to the false society where we all get on black brown or white christian muslim whatever.............its just unrealistic !!.....There will always be rivalries from boy to man its perfectly natural.........to try to prevent that i think takes something away from sport the same as it has taken something away from our societies where we are all expected to be these programmed robots who respect and get on with everyone because thats what we,re told to do................its bullshit thats breeding a weaker and weaker society ! Would you include the few daft home fans who run on to the pitch making aeroplane gestures to start that nonsense off in the first place..? Not wanting to start, just trying to say how f*****g ridiculous the whole thing is when folk start resorting to and responding to all that bollocks in the first place... It has no place, rivalries should be kept to the sporting side of things IMO..

I completely agree with you about the respect thing getting out of hand, but what I mean is that it's refreshing to hear sense rather than the constant stupid bullshit.
