Ha ha you must be another old fart...I had a Commodore 64 myself

First time I ever worked on a rig off Aberdeen I got a phone call from a guy with a really strong Aberdonian accent and what with all the noise in the background I just couldn't understand what he was

A bit of pc cleaning up Ray is needed, i run 2 desktops no probs whatsoever, for starters, download and install, SUPERANTISPYWARE, run it and sit back and be amazed at what crap it finds, talking of

Mobile Phone most of the time like now for example, I'm typing this on my phone. I used to use a desktop but now at home use a 200quid net book. Very fast very light and portable. 250gb hard drive has plenty of room for movies battery lasts 12 hours which is nearly a weeks use. Can't beat it.

good luck

thanks using (Nod32) and kept out most viruses  but that cleaning tip sounds very good  Ray

My Computer as been running very slow, most of the time at night, got real bad it stopped with the sand/glass sign, for good 10mins . Was well pissed off nearly through the thing across the floor :censored: . Had my comp bloke to look at it, just incase of any(viruses or ............) he said no prob there .Could be just (broad band) with lot of people all logged on, but he did say next time try using the wifes Laptop lol it might be quicker, if so your 6 year old comp just wore out , know the feeling lol. So anybody ever known the differnce from the 2 . regards the above .?

Reinstall windows after backing up all your stuff. If it ran ok once upon a time there is no reason why it shouldn't still work ok.

What happens is over the years of installing loads of software the registry gets clogged up. Also you need to check how many applications are running in the back ground.

Also you can go to http://www.speedtest.net/ to test how fast your internet is.

Is your computer running very slow on everything or is it just the internet?

I use mainly my laptop but use my pc with surround sound and bass amplifier to watch tv on.

All computers run slow with use, you collect all sorts of bad registry and unused files as well as clutter , I use System Mechanic by iolo worth every penny, it frees up memory, sorts out the registry and deep cleans it, result is a faster running pc like when it was new.
