i got my fac, rimfire, recently, and i decided to go lamping lastnight, i used a converted spotlight with a halogen bulb that i bought from ebay, the thing is i had a 12v battery with me and put it this way my lamping at night was cut short, (gutted) the battery drained after a 10 hour charge, it was defo down to the bulb. 100w. now here comes the the question. is there any other bulb out there that i can use except from an halogen one, but with the same affect of brightness but uses less power.

it is a front headlight bulb from a car with the one spade connection,

Scrimp and save like a maniac until you are comfortable splashing oot £250 on a deben lithium battery and a lightfoce stiker, change the plug for a masterplug rewirable,, and never look back.

In the meantime hit Halfords with the lamp and get an offroad use only 35W rallye lamp to fit.

Yup.. but the 35w off road rallye lamps will use less power for a better beam.

There is another thread up just now about Cyclops lamps, which are pretty cheap,,40 bucks or so,, perfect stand in until you get the striker.. better than a home made job, and uses a 55w lamp with a lens designed to give a perfect spot.

Or just buy a cree led torch from china for around 15 quid, either make or buy a scope mount, forget batteries, wires and all that crap, carry a couple of spare 18650 rechargables in your pocket, job done. Edited by charlie caller
