spade 224
John Terry has retired from international football ahead of his FA hearing stating that his position is untenable. Do you think it's right that he has done this having been found not guilty in a court of law?

ArchieHood 3,692
John Terry has retired from international football ahead of his FA hearing stating that his position is untenable. Do you think it's right that he has done this having been found not guilty in a court of law? He was found not guilty because the prosecution had to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Terry had used the words in an insulting manner, which it could not.He admitted using the the phrase "black c#nt" but said it was not directed at Ferdinand. The FA only has to prove he used the words "on the balance of probabilities".His admission is his downfall. Hob&Jill 258
Shame as he is a great player but... I think it's time Terry, Ferdinand, Lampard, Gerrard all called it a day with England. These guys have done their best for us but have won feck all, time to let Wilshere, Cleverly, Chaimberlain etc have a go IMO

Bang on, he should have done a hatchet job on the FA with his retirement statement but fair play he is bowing out with dignity. What the f**k is wrong with this country that we must constantly keep trying to hang people out to dry even when they have been found not guilty.........it's a shit state of affairs.

Malt 379
He won't be missed that much, ain't all that IMO. Did anyone watch the Chelsea champions league game last week? He was out of position for both the Juventus goals. He can tackle, he's a good leader on the pitch but he's as slow to react as a bloody oil tanker and has a nasty tendency to get caught out if position time and time again.. I've watched him get caught out over and over again both for England and Chelsea over the years but he escapes 90% of the criticism due to him because he's English and plays with his heart on his sleeve..
