The Duncan 802
Hi Folks, I'm just curious really. On a weekly basis, my family and I eat game (rabbit, pigeon, pheasant, partridge, duck, goose, hare, deer) 4 times a week. I was wondering how this compares to the 'average' hunter/shooter? Not looking for any one-up-manship, just seeing what others can get their families to eat on a regular basis

Same here and the price they ask for game is taking the piss. They're even charging £1.5 or £2 per pigeon!!!

Even after a mediocre day on the pigeons I come home feeling richer. 10 birds gives me 15 burgers that my gang prize higher than any shop bought or butchers burgers. RubyTex 1,957
About twice a week now as the freezer is full of pigeon, soon to be joined by pheasant when i go beating at the weekend. I get the occasional rabbit in a snare so that's a 'treat'. We also eat the spare quail and chickens that i raise, and the freezer in the shed has the summers mackerel haul sitting there we do alright!
suffolkpoacher 219
Get a fair few hares and rabbits which I don't eat but don't mind a bit of venision or any sea fish I get,
Lab 10,979
Lately ive been getting bags of chicken for a £5 so my freezer is jam packed with the stuff. Now that i stay myself pigeon, rabbit, venison, pheasant and duck will feature more. When you lived with someone who didnt want to eat that stuff it was just a farce to cook 2 seperate dinners.....

scotsbushman 1
going out on sunday, hope pigeon ends up on the menu. Chances are however my mate will have pigeon, and with my luck it will be pot noodle (chicken flavour obviously).
The Duncan 802
Its taken a few years, but my mrs will now eat pretty much anything - even cock flavoured soup!
TWOTWOTHREE 152
I tell you somet pal this week I've had no option but to eat game, here's how it happened,I rang the mrs at home friday last week while I was at work and asked her to get out a couple of pheasant breasts from the freezer,I simply said to her, please take out two small blue bags from inside the big blue freezer bag,she replied of course mi duck no probs, anyway I got home to not just a couple of breast but the whole friggin blue bag full defrosting nicely on the work top.i think there was 19 breasts if not more,so it's been stew for breakfast and dinner and tea and even a midnight snack, along with pheasant and chips infact pheasant everything even at work now with pheasant bloody sarnies, she's a little angel lol Atb 223
