R.A.W 1,987 Posted September 23, 2012 Report Share Posted September 23, 2012 take two out mate . the old one and a younger one. if the older one is struggling and the younger does the job quick time. it's the beging of the old ferrets retirement. you don't want to be stuck on berrie when you could be at the next netting up. keep the old boy or girl for little jobs. my old girl is getting on know and she still bolts rabbits but she's been a great team member and deserves a rest. atb raw Quote Link to post

Guest vin Posted September 25, 2012 Report Share Posted September 25, 2012 my mates old Jill is 10 now..deaf and blind...but still has a little run through every now and then..just to keep her happy..i dont think she will be out much this season and will probably be her last...he keeps saying this...But she always makes an apearance. ferret1988 20 Posted September 26, 2012 Report Share Posted September 26, 2012 I have 2 that are 6 that came into season but never took they have have add litters previous years i worked a ferret till she was 11 but my too old girls are 6 and seem to have had enough if they got behind a big rabbit dont know if they would be able to take te kick in, Quote Link to post
The one 8,504 Posted September 26, 2012 Report Share Posted September 26, 2012 My last lot of old jills stopped coming into season but started going bald from April to October ,them there belly's swelled up but the vet didn't want to do anything due to there age . They where happy enough but you just had to keep them warm Quote Link to post
